A Call To Write: “Bon Appetit!” Stationary & Earthscapes Stamps

Last month I gave away some of my absolute favorite postcards from Good Food Jobs and adorable Apple postcard stamps which I have since become a little obsessed with sending out to my friends. This month I have crafted flat note cards using my embossing “skills”. These are sky blue note cards paired with an ocean blue envelope – the perfect set to pair with the gorgeous Earthscapes Forever stamps I will be sending along with them!

When I went shopping at my favorite Paper Source for Easter supplies/presents I came across this Bon Appetit banner stamp. Having recently watched Julie & Julia on my train ride back to the city a few days before I thought it would be just right for my April stationary giveaway!
BonAppetitApril2013EarthscapesApril2013I loved your responses to last month’s question. I’m glad to see enthusiasm over the handwritten letter – but it does go to show how rare they are nowadays! Do your part to romance someone’s day by taking a moment to write out a little note or greeting, slap a stamp on it and pop it in the mail! Throughout this year please feel free to send me a message about what you’re sending and receiving through the mail – together we will make a difference and can keep the Post Office alive and kicking!

AsAlwaysJuliacoverTime for the question, but first remember the rules!: Leave your response in the comments section of this post, or if the comments aren’t working for you, email me your response with the post title as the subject of your email (theculinarylibrarian[at]gmail.com). Please feel free to share the giveaway on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn – anywhere!

Question Number Two:

Julia Child and her friend Avis DeVoto solidified their friendship strictly through the sending of letters (You can read through their exchange in “As Always, Julia”). From France and later around the world Julia stayed close to Avis through postal mail. What started with a simple fan letter to Avis’ husband turned into a lifelong exchange of honest expression and the written word. So my question to you all is:

Have you ever had a pen pal? If so, tell me a little bit about them.

If you’ve never had a pen pal tell me:

If you could have anyone as a pen pal (living, dead, fictitious, etc) who would it be?

OR

If you could have a pen pal in any part of the world, where would you want to send your letters?

This month I will be choosing my favorite response as the winner of the giveaway. After 2 weeks I will choose and announce the winner on The Culinary Librarian. The winner will need to email me the address they would like me to send the stationary and stamps within 48 hours. If the winner doesn’t respond I will choose a new recipient and announce the new winner on blog.

Bonne Chance & Bon Appetit!

I love receiving letters :) I communicate with my best friend from home (friends since kindergarten!) through cards and letters. She definitely sends me more than I send her so I definitely need some stationary. It's funny how she times the letters perfectly for events and holidays and they always make me smile more than a text or email.
